March 2008 - Long Distance Training
Starting to build up the endurance now by building up my non-stop swim times towards the hour so Im used to swimming for a long time in the long distance - using my pacer to keep the 100m times to about 1m 10s and drill in the rhythm I will need to keep going.
Im also using the bike to work on the quads and endurance. Today I managed 34.36 km on the trainer cycling for 1 hour non stop. The trainer was set to half way through its resistance range which feels realistic for flat road. Im looking forward to trying out the hour in a Velodrome some time.
Also starting to mix in the power and lactate work now. e.g. 4 x 5 x 100m on 1:15 and
5x 4x 50 sprints every 1 min. AND of course all the routines I leant in Russia with Igor - thanks again Igor if you are reading this.
First competition coming up in Antwerp on 6th April.
